Every Independence Day makes my mouth water. The fireworks are great and all, but the food is what gets my attention. The sweets and treats especially. If I had to choose my favorite, this spiced peach cobbler dish would be it. There isn’t a 4th of July dessert recipe that I like to make (and eat) more!
Although I try to leave room for dessert, I need to do a better job taming my sweet tooth. After an eventful day of games, music, grilling and celebration – my belly needs room for this. Unfortunately, the barbecue section tends to get all the attention on the 4th. Kind of like chips and salsa on Cinco De mayo.
However, nothing takes the cake like a good ole 4th of July dessert recipe that hits the spot!
Why is a Photographer Discussing Desserts?
Sharing stuff like this is a great way for me to interact with the Olive Branch community. As business owner and mom of 6, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. By discussing some of my favorite dishes, it opens up the door for others to share theirs! We’ve been showered by so much good food since moving to Olive Branch. So it’s the least I can do!
Have Some Sun With Your Cobbler!
Making spiced peach cobbler is so easy that you could hand over the task to your children if you want! OK, that might be a little too risky. But I’m sure you can find a way for them to help! My kids are always in the kitchen with me! Photography gives me plenty of opportunity to be present at home.
Healthy Rating and Added Flavor.
If you like peaches and cake, you’ll definitely love my Peach Cobbler – even though it has a little kick! Depending on how much sugar you end up using, this 4th of July dessert recipe isn’t too unhealthy. So tell aerobic Aunt Suzie she can have a bite or two. Mississippi may be known for hot sauce and cajun, but we know how to bring the spice in Arizona!
If you want that to ‘go big’ with the cobbler, add some sugar cookies, vanilla ice cream and a whipped topping! There’s no way possible you won’t be hooked. In the meantime, if you and the gang would like to schedule a photoshoot near Memphis around the 4th – let me know!
