Since I grew up so close to the southern Arizona, Mexican food is kind of a staple in my life. I can’t remember an Independence Day celebration that didn’t involve carne asada. It’s kind of like chili here in Mississippi. Either way, if you’re not on-the-hook for a main dish this year, you can never go wrong with a good ole Fourth of July salsa recipe.
Origin of My 'Can't Get Any Fresher' Salsa.
With six kids, I lavish the opportunity not to cook during the summer. Even though I make a mean lime-guacamole dip, salsa is easier to prepare and tends to be a lot more filling. I’ve been known to get a little out-of-hand with the spices at home. So my kids like to doubt my abilities. But there is a method to my madness.
I believe I created this Fourth of July salsa recipe with the perfect blend of tomatoes, peppers, and lime. It’s not too spicy and everybody that has tried it has loved it!
What Makes Salsa a Good 4th of July Dish?
No matter how hard I try, nothing comes close to the Mexican food I ate growing up in Yuma. It is by far the best. Even when you travel an hour away (in the U.S.), it just doesn’t taste the same. Although I’m far from perfecting my own Mexican food, chips and salsa has never let me down! The spicier it is, the better it is for you – plus, it goes with everything!
You can snack on it as an appetizer or coordinate into your meal. Loaded nachos can even be a main course! Whether the house is packed or it’s just you and a few friends at the pool, a good Fourth of July salsa recipe is always the first thing eaten. Let the chips to the work.
