It’s that time of year again! The birds are chirping, March Madness is in the air, and graduation is right around the corner! So if you’re a part of the 2022 class, it’s a good idea to starting thinking about your Mississippi senior photos sooner than later.

What Can Senior Photos Mean?

As for me, I was less fortunate and never had the opportunity to take my graduation portraits.  It wasn’t affordable for my family at the time. This is one of the many reasons I’m so passionate about helping parents and students capture affordable milestone pictures today. Even though it didn’t devastate me, it would have been nice to capture who I was during one of the most memorable years and moments of my life.

So, don’t be worried about the cost. Just know that I’m always willing to work with my clients to ensure they’re able to remember  a high school style and smile. I also take a lot of pride in customizing shoots to capture your authentic personality best.

So many things change when you venture off on your own – whether that be to college or straight to a full time job. It can be easy to lose sight of who you are when the worries of the world preset themselves. So before you go changing on your parents, make sure you freeze this moment in time – one way or another.

What Are Some Graduation Picture Tips?

When it comes to Mississippi senior photos, there are plenty of locations and settings to consider. At the same time, try to focus on a placement that suits you best. Train tracks or a rustic building may look “cool”, but if it doesn’t make sense, what’s the point? I’ve found that a student’s stomping grounds or even their own home usually provide amazing results.

If you want to venture outdoors, simple settings work work. Sometimes, an old tire swing, bubbling brook, wildflower meadow or sports field is enough. No matter where you take your pictures, the abilities of the photographer is what usually makes the pictures pop. Think of natural poses, props and even people (like siblings or significant others) that can really bring the student’s moment-in-time to life!

What To Look For in Grad Photographers.

Occasionally, you run into professional photographers who are only comfortable shooting in their own style and way.  This isn’t always a bad thing, but customized settings, themes, and styles make the photo shoot so much more fun! Senior photos shouldn’t be viewed as a headshot in a studio setting, they ought to truly define who you are!

If you find yourself overpaying for a photographer that isn’t OK with stepping out of their comfort zone to suit your unique needs, then why spend the money. It’s your senior year! Although I like to ask student: “How do you want to be remembered?” I think it’s more important to determine how you want to remember yourself.
