Leading up to the holidays, the weather is definitely a lot cooler – but it’s far from frightful! In fact, the Mississippi autumn breeze is quite amazing. So if you’re thinking about getting family holiday pictures this year, now is the time to step outside and get err done! The idea becomes more dreadful the closer we get to Christmas.
Since this will be my first winter in the south, I’m experiencing a lot of things for the first time. But my love for capturing families during the holiday season remains the same. So before my outdoor services go into hibernation this winter, I thought I’d talk about a fun photoshoot I did last December.

Business Went Cold Last Christmas.
2020 was quite the year to say the least. Aside from the pandemic and all of its effects, my husband and I welcomed our 6th child into the world. While baby Silas has been amazing, society has changed a lot. So when the Wrights called me to take their family holiday pictures, I was more than eager to get out of the house!
A Little Bit About The Family’s Holiday Pictures.
A little fun fact: Dad and mom just started working together in their real estate business. I love it when couples team up to provide for their family. It’s definitely something I don’t take for granted! Since realtors have been busy lately, it was difficult at first to find time in both of our schedules for their family holiday pictures. But they were determined to get Christmas cards sent out on time.

Even though our families were already acquainted, I learned a lot about Roger and Courtney leading up to our session. They are a very kind, compassionate, and selfless people. It was wonderful hearing their story and I look forward to watching them grow.
Scheduling, planning and preparing for family holiday pictures is no easy task – especially when littles are involved. Even when you’re available, the season can definitely take its toll. Despite their exhaustion, I thought the Wright’s pictures turned out great. They were such a candid family!
Use The Scheduled Time to Capture Your Kids.
What impressed me the most was how photogenic their son was. The bubbly, full-of-life 6 year old had so much fun as the center of attention. He absolutely loved playing in front of the camera. I’ve been doing this for a while now and not many kids are very cooperative.
He quite possibly has 101 different facial expressions. So it was so hard not to keep every single one of his pictures! I’m sure there is never a dull moment in their home.
Remember Every Christmas With Family Holiday Pictures.
No matter where you are or where you’re going this year, if you have the chance to take family holiday pictures, don’t skip out! Even if you have to take them yourselves, you won’t regret it. It just warms my heart looking back at my family’s Thanksgiving and Christmas memories.
Here’s what the couple had to say about their family holiday pictures:
“Thank you so much! We had a great experience taking the pictures and can’t wait to see the final product!! Love the pictures!! Thank you so much!”
